Persistent Pain & How Hypnotherapy Can Help

Pain can show up in many ways. For some, it’s steady and predictable; for others, it flares unpredictably, affecting mood, sleep, and day-to-day life.

Chronic pain often drains energy and focus, leaving you feeling frustrated, exhausted, or emotionally low.

We now know that pain isn’t only physical. The brain plays a major role in how we perceive and process pain signals. When pain pathways stay switched on for long periods, the body can remain in a constant state of alert, even after an injury has healed or when there’s no clear cause.

According to research published in BMJ Open, around 28 million adults in the UK live with chronic pain, highlighting just how widespread and life-impacting it can be.

Using hypnotherapy for pain management works by engaging your subconscious mind, which regulates automatic responses like tension, focus, and sensitivity.

Using gentle, evidence-based techniques, we’ll work together to help you retrain your mind’s response to pain, reduce stress, and restore a greater sense of calm, comfort, and control in your body.

Hypnosis treatment lasting a minimum of 8 sessions could offer an effective complementary approach to manage chronic pain.

Hypnotherapy Sessions: What to Expect

Free Initial Consultation

It all starts with a free 60-minute initial consultation, where I explain how hypnotherapy works and gather key information to better understand your personal challenges, pain and pain management.

At the end of your consultation, you’ll have the chance to ask me questions and book your first hypnotherapy session.

Hypnotherapy Sessions

Once you have booked your first session, you will receive my pre-treatment audio recording to help you prepare for your hypnotherapy session and reinforce the ongoing therapeutic work.

We will explore the mental and physical triggers that tend to amplify discomfort, such as stress, fatigue, or worry, and then create effective strategies to manage your pain with calm and clarity.

On average, it takes 8-12 hypnotherapy sessions to work on pain management.
